Beginning readers are set for success with Power Readers. The program features 28 related decodable stories with recurring characters and prereading and postreading activity pages aligned with the story and the phonics concept. Engaging poetry and student-friendly questions promote vocabulary and comprehension. Vocabulary and sight word practice builds skills: Students begin with simple, one-syllable short vowel words (sat) and gradually progress to simple, two-syllable words (rabbit, ringing). Stories are a mix of fiction, realistic fiction of an expository nature, and poetry. Ideal for all beginning readers.
