Daily Oral Vocabulary Exercises (DOVE) is a voiced vocabulary supplemental program designed to develop fluent and flexible understanding of high-frequency academic vocabulary. DOVE deepens fluency, vocabulary, background knowledge, and comprehension by focusing on 72 target words and their related words—synonyms, antonyms, derivatives, cognates, concept clusters, and more—making 450 words altogether.

DOVE includes vocabulary-specific passages, partner pages, unit reviews, and assessments, as well as a student-friendly definition and a Spanish cognate or translation for each target word. DOVE strives to generate interest through variation: words are contextualized in varied whimsical rhymes, informative passages, and interesting quotations. DOVE uses rhyme and rhythm to promote memory and retention.
