Step Up to Writing materials and training are protected under the copyright of Sopris West Educational Services. Sopris West is the sole source provider of training on the program.

Step Up to Writing offers several types of professional development options:

• Two-Day Elementary Workshop: This is a 15-hour introductory training designed for primary and elementary school staff. As with the four-day, the material can be taught in two consecutive days or designed to meet your needs. A Follow-up Customized Workshop is recommended.
• Two-Day Secondary Workshop: This is a 15-hour introductory training designed for secondary school staff. As with the four-day, the material can be taught in two consecutive days or designed to meet your needs. A Follow-up Customized Workshop is recommended.
• Customized Follow-up Workshop: Follow-up trainings are highly recommended to maximize the success of the Step Up to Writing program. Follow-ups will be customized to respond to individual school and district needs. Every effort is made to have the trainer who facilitated the initial workshop return for the follow-up.
